Reception Area Before New Furniture Installed
Croydon Business Venture wished to refurbish their reception area but had several problems which severely restricted the type of furniture that could be chosen.
With the angled shop front type window, the furniture had to be able to fit at an angle at the sides. However with the multitude of telecomms and IT switch boxes on two walls, they had to remain accessible when required.
Reception Solution Using Customised Assmann Cupboards
Well-proven InvitAss cupboards from Assmann Office Furniture were specified to create the solution. The left hand facing cupboard was fitted with larger diameter castors instead of the adjustable plinth. The top was designed to overhang on the right and was cut and mitred on site to meet the angle of the wall and the other cupboards. Underneath the extended top was a special infill panel to hide the gap. Neither were permanently fitted, and could be removed and wheeled away very easily.
Bespoke Reception Desk
The cupboard in the corner is static, and has had much of the back panel cut away to house electronic equipment, and allow for both the passage of cables and ventilation. The desk itself is created by having a special top sitting on two special pedestal units. The left hand unit has a door, rather than drawers, and house the computer base unit. Again the back is cut away for ventilation and cables. The right hand unit has multiple steel drawers with heavy duty runners. Above the desk is a special counter low counter top to fit under the visitors window.
